Rutu Desai
I am a Registered Physiotherapist with over 10 years of clinical experience, providing compassionate, evidence-based care for patients of all ages—from children and adolescents to adults and seniors. My passion is helping people overcome pain, restore movement, and regain confidence in their bodies through personalized treatment plans designed around their unique needs and goals.
I believe great physiotherapy starts with listening. Every patient has a different story, and I take the time to understand your concerns, lifestyle, and goals to create a treatment approach that is effective, practical, and meaningful for you.
My areas of expertise include pelvic floor physiotherapy for women and men, vestibular rehabilitation, concussion management, dry needling/Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), electrotherapy modalities, rehabilitation for motor vehicle accident (MVA) injuries, Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WCB) injuries, and a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions.
I have a special interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy, helping patients with bladder and bowel concerns, pelvic pain, pregnancy and postpartum recovery, pelvic organ prolapse, diastasis recti, post-prostate surgery rehabilitation, and core dysfunction. I provide a safe, respectful, and confidential environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their concerns and receiving the care they need.
For patients experiencing dizziness, vertigo, balance difficulties, or concussion symptoms, vestibular rehabilitation can help retrain the balance system, reduce symptoms, and improve confidence with daily activities through specialized exercises and personalized care. My treatment approach combines hands-on manual therapy, individualized exercise programs, patient education, and evidence-based techniques to address the source of your symptoms, not just manage them. I am committed to empowering every patient with the knowledge and tools needed for long-term recovery and improved quality of life. Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing pain, addressing pelvic health concerns, recovering from a concussion, improving balance, or simply wanting to move and feel better, I am here to support you on your journey toward better health, strength, and confidence. Outside of my professional life, I cherish spending time with my husband and our two beautiful daughters. I enjoy creating special family memories through play, outdoor adventures, and everyday moments filled with laughter, connection, and joy.

Khurshid graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2010 from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India. Khurshid brings over a decade of experience working with different age groups and problems!
If he had to specific one specialty, it’d be sports injuries. He’s a huge football (soccer) fan. His favorite team is Manchester United. In fact, he loves the team so much that he followed them all the way to England to complete schooling in Exercise and Sports Science in Manchester at Manchester Metropolitan University. ⚽️💖
His love for sports is probably what led him to specialize in sports injury physiotherapy. Given how much Beaumont loves sports, he has many amateur to pro level athletes (Yes, CFL too) who has seen him for treatment.
Khurshid’s patients are ranging from cute, little children to respected, mature seniors. He enjoys working with patients following knee or hip replacement/ surgery, or spinal surgery as he has personal experience working alongside an orthopedic/ replacement and neuro surgeon for two years.
He also worked alongside podiatrists for a few years, gaining vast knowledge regarding foot and ankle issues, especially many hard-working Albertans who are in the oil patch and construction wearing steel-toed footwear full time.
Lately, he’s been working with whiplash cases, often a result of motor vehicle accidents (MVA). He also works with neck pain, low back pain, and issues arising from nerve or disc related pathology using Spinal Decompression. Additionally, not to forget his keen interest working on Posture and issues arising from bad postural habits that is seen very common amongst office and desk workers who are mainly working from home specially after COVID-19.
He has over seven years experience working with Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), which is in huge demand among patients looking for quick pain relief and movement improvement.
Khurshid believes in tailoring physiotherapy programs for each individual. I am a registered acupuncturist and massage therapist with over 10 years of clinical experience. I work with people whose bodies feel tight, tired, overwhelmed or stuck in patterns of tension and pain. This often comes from long-term overwork, stress, health challenges, overstimulation, or emotional strain.
My treatments blend acupuncture, therapeutic massage and nervous system care to support both physical and emotional needs. My work can be light and calming or deep and focused, depending on what you need that day. For acupuncture, I use extra-thin needles for comfort and offer low-needle introductions for those who feel unsure or nervous about trying it.
I provide massage for ages 5 and up, and acupuncture for ages 15 and over.
I am known for my warm, engaged approach and deeply customized sessions where patients feel heard, supported, and cared for. Each treatment is thoughtfully personalized to help people feel more at ease and at home in their own bodies.
I frequently treat stress and neuropathy-related symptoms that show up throughout the body. This often results in body discomforts such as headaches, jaw and TMJ issues and chronic tension and pain in the neck, shoulders, back, hips and legs. Sometimes they show up mental and emotional overwhelm or fatigue. For others, it’s both.
I especially enjoy supporting people through difficulties in their lives, when the body and nervous system needs extra care and attention, along with people working on longterm and committed health goals.
