Reiki s a therapy often described as palm healing or hands-on-body healing in which a practitioner places hands lightly on or over a patient's body to facilitate the patient's process of healing.
Reiki combines the Japanese and Chinese word-characters of "rei" (spiritual or supernatural) and "ki" (vital energy). One of the basic ideas held by those who practice Reiki is that this vital energy can be channeled to support the body's natural ability to heal itself.

While this may sound like voodoo magic to some, even nonbelievers who have spent an hour with a skilled Reiki master (as they’re called) have felt a positive shift of some sort. Many describe Reiki sessions—a combination of light touch and above-the-body energy sweeping—as calming or grounding. And for others, it feels more like an emotional realignment.

Some of the many health benefits of having regular Reiki sessions include:
Bring on a deep meditative state
Foster tissue and bone healing after injury or surgery
Stimulate your body’s immune system
Promote natural self-healing
Relive pain and tension
Support the wellbeing of people receiving traditional medical treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and kidney dialysis.

From a young age I’ve always had a passion for understanding the human condition and why and how people make decisions as well as the internal and external factors that may affect these decisions. This curiosity led to my deep passion for psychology. During my undergrad at the University of Alberta, I was fascinated by the different areas of psychology such as neuropsychology, environmental psychology, health psychology and aspects of brain and behaviour which I use to help me understand and conceptualize client needs in my practice as a therapist. Using these areas as a framework for understanding, I further conceptualize the clients needs using modalities rooted in a psychodynamic framework and various interventions in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), solution focused therapy (SFT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) as well as some elements of mindfulness. My areas of expertise are anxiety, depression, ADHD, low self esteem, relationship challenges, familial difficulties, and agoraphobia. My client focus are children ages 7+, adolescents, couples, seniors, and those who identify as neurodivergent.

Khurshid graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2010 from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in India. Khurshid brings over a decade of experience working with different age groups and problems!

If he had to specific one specialty, it’d be sports injuries. He’s a huge football (soccer) fan. His favorite team is Manchester United. In fact, he loves the team so much that he followed them all the way to England to complete schooling in Exercise and Sports Science in Manchester at Manchester Metropolitan University. ⚽️💖

His love for sports is probably what led him to specialize in sports injury physiotherapy. He works with injury cases from both indoor and outdoor sports, mostly in volleyball, basketball, baseball, rugby, hockey, soccer, and football (the Canadian kind). Given how much Beaumont loves sports, he has many amateur to pro level athletes (Yes, CFL too) who has seen him for treatment.

Khurshid’s patients are ranging from cute, little children to respected, mature seniors. He enjoys working with patients following knee or hip replacement/ surgery, or spinal surgery as he has personal experience working alongside an orthopedic/ replacement and neuro surgeon for two years.

He also worked alongside podiatrists for a few years, gaining vast knowledge regarding foot and ankle issues, especially many hard-working Albertans who are in the oil patch and construction wearing steel-toed footwear full time.

Lately, he’s been working with whiplash cases, often a result of motor vehicle accidents (MVA). He also works with neck pain, low back pain, and issues arising from nerve or disc related pathology using Spinal Decompression. Additionally, not to forget his keen interest working on Posture and issues arising from bad postural habits that is seen very common amongst office and desk workers who are mainly working from home specially after COVID-19.

He has over seven years experience working with Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy (ESWT), which is in huge demand among patients looking for quick pain relief and movement improvement.

Khurshid believes in tailoring physiotherapy programs for each individual. He combines his knowledge of exercise science with the latest equipment and hands-on skills to achieve the best outcome for his clients. ⠀ In his spare time, he likes to go on a long drive and to the mountains to see crystal blue water, despite not being a very good hiker. 😉

Upon graduation, Dr. Paul returned to the Capital Region, were he opened his first clinic, the award-winning Century Park Pain and Health, in South Edmonton. Dr. Paul has since opened two more clinics. Last year, he merged and opened a clinic in Leduc (Willow Park Physiotherapy), and this year, he purchased a second Spruce Grove location: 360 Wellness. In 2008, he founded Spinal Care Canada, extending spinal decompression services to locations throughout Alberta. Today, Dr. Paul’s clinics are more than just chiropractic offices: they focus on comprehensive, whole health solutions. Each clinic provides multiple services, including chiropractic, massage therapy, acupuncture, physiotherapy, shockwave therapy, neuropathy, and podiatry. He is not only dedicated to providing optimum care to his clients, he strives to make his clinics leading care centres in their areas. Dr. Paul’s customers are the first to say his customer service is amazing. He puts his patients first and focuses on only their time and treatment. Over the last 14 years, he has mentored the rest of his team in these same principles.
